The Trial Confirmation Program helps tutors stay organized and ensures families connect with reliable, responsive tutors. This system gives you flexibility to manage your schedule while maintaining a smooth experience for families and students.
How It Works
Notifications
You’ll receive a text message and email each time a new trial is booked within the next 24–48 hours.
Accessing your dashboard
Click the link in the message to open your Trial Confirmation Dashboard — this dashboard is separate from your regular Dojo Tutor dashboard.
Confirming availability
Select each class to confirm whether you can facilitate it. If you decline or don’t respond in time, your profile may be deprioritized in the Tutor Directory rankings so families can find tutors who are consistently available and responsive.
Declined trials
Trials you decline will be removed from your regular Dojo Tutor dashboard as soon as possible. Once you’ve declined a trial, you’re not responsible for that class. However, your profile will be moved down in the Directory.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What times should I expect my texts/emails?
A: The times vary depending on when a parent books the class and the class time they select. However, we’ll have silent hours between 00:00 and 06:00 am in your local time.
Q: How many reminders will I receive to confirm a class?
A: You can receive up to 2 notifications for each trial you get assigned.
Q: What happens if I don’t answer or decline the trial class?
A: We will assign another tutor to the session, and you will not be compensated for the session.
Q: Who gets assigned to the child if a substitute does the trial and the family subscribes?
A: The substitute will facilitate all recurring classes moving forward for this student.
Q: How does reliability affect my visibility?
A: Reliable tutors — those who confirm and complete trials consistently — appear higher in the Tutor Directory, helping families find them faster.
Q: What happens if I don’t answer or decline the trial class?
A: We will assign another tutor to the session, and you will not be compensated for the session. However, your profile will be moved down in the Directory so that new families select to work with tutors with strong reliability
Q: Why didn’t my trial class confirmation dashboard update?
A: It can take some time to update. Please refresh your trial class confirmation dashboard for the latest information.
Q: What if I have a subscriber at the time I’m being asked to do a trial?
A: Your subscriber class will always take priority.
Q: How long do I have to confirm my availability for a trial class?
A: We ask you to confirm as soon as possible. We understand that many of you are teaching during the day, this is why you'll usually have 8 hours to confirm.
- If we notify you about the new trial between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm your local time, we'll give you until 6:00 am the next day to confirm the class.
- If we notify you about the new trial after 8:00 pm your local time, we'll give you until 10:00 am the next day to confirm the class.
Q: Why is the trial class I declined still on my Dojo Tutor dashboard?
A: It may take us some hours to find another tutor to facilitate that class. However, you should not see the declined trial in your schedule on the same day as the class. If it is, please email us at tutoring-support@classdojo.com so we can support you ASAP.
Q: What happens if I reply late for trial classes I could have done?
A: The class may already be assigned to another tutor. Please try to reply as quickly as possible.
Q: Can I opt out of this process?
A: Not for now, always feel free to reach out to share questions regarding this.
Q: If I'm a substitute, do I also need to confirm trials?
A: Substitutes also need to confirm trials assigned with more than 24 hours' notice. However, trials assigned with 2-24 hours' notice will still be auto-confirmed. You should keep an eye on your email, text messages and Dojo Tutor dashboard for them.
Q: Does this mean I can receive daily updates?
A: Based on your availability and when you have trials assigned, yes, you may be updated about new trials daily. However, we won't send you any notifications if you don't have trials scheduled or pending confirmation within the next 24-48 hours.
