When a transfer makes sense
We’re all about helping kids thrive, and sometimes, finding the right match means connecting them with a different tutor. We’ll happily consider a transfer request if:
- ✅ The child’s needs require a specific skill set or expertise beyond your area (e.g., working above grade level, Autism, SPED, language barrier).
- ✅ You feel the student would be better served by another tutor with specialized knowledge or experience.
- ✅ You’ve tried different approaches, but the learning experience isn’t clicking as it should.
In these cases, we’ll work with you to ensure the student gets the support they need with a tutor who’s the best fit for them.
When a transfer may not be the right solution
We want to make sure transfers happen for the right reasons. Here are some situations where a transfer request might not be best:
- 🚫 Unfit for online tutoring - The student is likely to struggle with any tutor. Sometimes, it’s not about the tutor but about external factors.
- 🚫 Student Preparedness - The child is often unprepared for class (e.g., dead device battery, noisy environment, or technical issues).
- 🚫 Unconducive Learning Environment - The student frequently joins sessions from a phone or is in a place that’s making effective tutoring difficult.
- 🚫 Excessive Parent Involvement - The parent is overly involved, often answering for the student, which affects independent learning.
- 🚫 Attendance Issues - The student is frequently absent or late without prior notice, impacting learning consistency.
