Dojo Tutor now hosts your sessions on Lessonspace-- your new online classroom! This guide covers the essential tools you'll use in every session.
What is Lessonspace?
Lessonspace is an interactive, browser-based classroom that includes:
- High-quality video and audio
- Interactive whiteboards
- Screen sharing tools
- Document uploads
- Shared notes
- Multi-tab teaching spaces
All accessible directly from your Dojo Tutor Dashboard.
Joining Your Class
Tutors will join Lessonspace straight from the Tutor Dashboard by clicking the "Join class" button, which becomes available 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Key Classroom Tools
1. Whiteboard
Use drawing tools, text, shapes, and drag-and-drop elements to teach interactively. For more information, check out this support article from Lessonspace Knowledge Base.
2. Screensharing
You can share:
- Entire screen
- Specific window
- Specific browser tab
Great for showing websites, worksheets, or educational videos. Click here for a quick tutorial on how to share your screen in Lessonspace. You can annotate on a screenshare, as well as pop a student's video out.
3. File & Document Sharing
Upload worksheets, PDFs, or images directly into the workspace where you and your student can both annotate them.

4. Shared Notes
A collaborative notes panel for writing steps, vocabulary, or instructions.
5. Multi-Tab Spaces
Create multiple whiteboard tabs for different activities:
- Warm-up tab
- Main lesson tab
- Practice problems
- Exit ticket

6. Audio/Video Controls
Inside the classroom, you can:
- Mute/unmute
- Turn the camera on/off
- Select microphone/camera sources
7. Basic Troubleshooting
If you or your student is having any trouble joining your Space, a troubleshooting menu will pop up where you can see exactly what problem you might be having, but also importantly, Lessonspace will attempt to give you insight into what a student is struggling with.
See this guide for the most common issues that might occur on your first lesson, and in the rare case that something does occur, it’ll often be resolved completely by lesson #2!
8. Leaving the Session
Use the "End Session for all" button when the class is complete.
