We’ve introduced a new Trial Class experience in Lessonspace designed to help tutors feel confident, flexible, and set up for success from session one — while giving families a clear picture of how you teach.
This experience is:
Designed to work seamlessly with Lessonspace
Rebuilt using data from trial classes that converted to subscriptions
Created to give tutors more autonomy, while still providing structure where it matters most
📘 What’s Included in the Trial Experience?
When you open the Trial Class template, you’ll see three whiteboard tabs, each with a specific purpose:
1️⃣ Trial Class (Main Experience)
This is the core trial flow you’ll use with families.
Provides a strong opening to welcome families and set expectations
Supports a natural conversation at the start to learn what the student needs
Leaves space for you to personalize the session using your go-to strategies and resources
Includes a clear closing to recap, align on next steps, and build confidence moving forward
You can review what this looks like here.
2️⃣ Learn to use the whiteboard (Tutor Tooling)
This tab is a hands-on activity designed to help you (and students!) get comfortable using the Lessonspace whiteboard.
You can use it to:
Practice dragging, moving, circling, and interacting with elements
Warm up younger students
Build confidence with the whiteboard tools before jumping into academic work
It’s especially helpful at the start of a trial or with students new to virtual learning.
3️⃣ Mini Games Collection
This tab includes a set of ready-to-use mini games and activities you can pull from as needed.
Use these to:
Build rapport
Warm up at the start of a session
Reset attention or energy mid-class
End on a positive, engaging note
They’re optional, flexible, and meant to support—not replace—your instruction.
🧭 How to Access the Trial Class Experience
To open the Trial Class template in Lessonspace:
Open your class
Open a new whiteboard
Click the Library button in the toolbar
Select Organization
Open the Trial Class folder
Click the Trial Class Template
This will automatically open the three whiteboard tabs described above.
🎯 Why This Approach Works
This trial experience was intentionally designed to:
Create a consistent, high-quality first impression for families
Allow tutors to adapt in real time based on the student and family
Show families how your classes run
Support stronger alignment between trial sessions and ongoing subscriptions
You’re not expected to “wing it” or start from scratch. Instead, you’re empowered to use your professional judgment, favorite tools, and teaching style, with a framework that supports you.
