Frequently asked questions
Q: What are the class pay rates?
A: Trial classes have a flat rate of $7.50 per session. If the learner subscribes to weekly tutoring after their trial, you’ll receive an additional $7.50 conversion bonus.
Subscription classes are paid according to a tutor’s base pay rate per session.
Q: What would be the total payout for a trial class I taught where the learner ended up subscribing to weekly tutoring?
A: The total payout would be $15—a $7.50 flat rate for the trial class, plus the $7.50 conversion bonus for the student subscribing.
Q: What would be the total payout for a trial class I taught where the learner never subscribed to weekly tutoring?
A: The total payment would be $7.50. The conversion bonus is only paid if the student subscribes.
Q: When will I receive the payments for my conversion bonuses?
A: Monthly payments are made within the first 3 business days of the following month. Each month, you’ll receive payments for:
- All subscription classes taught ($15 each)
- All trial classes taught ($7.50 each)
- Any conversion bonuses earned ($7.50 per subscribed learner)
Q: If I teach a trial class in April and the learner subscribes in May, when will I get the conversion bonus?
A: The conversion bonus is paid the month the student subscribes. In this case, you’d receive the bonus with your May payment, issued in the first 3 business days of June.
Q: If I teach a trial class, but the learner gets assigned to a different tutor later, will I still get the subscription bonus?
A: Yes! As long as the learner attended a trial class with you and later subscribed, you’ll receive the bonus. You were the one who introduced them to Dojo Tutor, and we recognize that!
Q: Do I need to submit an invoice through Remote for each pay period?
A: Nope! Our payment team automatically generates invoices for each pay period. These include:
- All classes taught
- Any additional payments (e.g., training compensation, adjustments for missing payments)
Q: What are class reports, and when do I receive them?
A: A Class Report is sent two business days after each pay period. It includes a record of all classes you taught during that period.
Q: What if a class is missing from my payment?
A: If a class wasn’t credited, you can dispute it using the dispute link in your Class Report. This link is sent at the end of each pay period.
All about trial class conversion rates

Q: When will I receive my payment?
A: Tutors are paid 3 business days after each pay period ends. If a holiday falls within this timeframe, the payment date will be adjusted accordingly.
Additional tutor payments

- A parent cancels less than 24 hours before the session
- A student doesn’t show up
- A parent joins the session to cancel due to an emergency
Q: I have a class I wasn’t paid for in the last pay period. How can I get my payment?
A: If a class was missing from your payment, use the dispute link in your Class Report to report it for review.
