🗓️ Payment Timeline
As of January 2026, tutor payments are sent twice a month, on the 15th and at the end of the month.
This update helps streamline our internal processes and ensures a smoother experience for everyone using our systems.
Beginning in 2026, payments will follow this updated cadence:
First Pay Period
- Includes: Classes taught and subscribers converted between the 10th and the 24th of a given month.
- Pay date: Last business day of the month
- Example: For classes taught and subscribers converted between 01/10/2026 – 01/24/2026, the pay date is 01/30/2026.
Second Pay Period
- Includes: Classes taught and subscribers converted between the 25th of a given month and the 9th of the next month.
- Pay date: On the 15th of the month (earlier if the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday)
- Example: For classes taught and subscribers converted between 01/25/2026 – 02/09/2026, the pay date is 02/13/2026.
Payments are processed after the close of each pay period. As soon as payments are processed, tutors receive an email confirmation from our payment provider. Tutors can typically expect funds to appear in 2–3 business days, depending on each bank's processing times.
đź’Ľ Compensation for Tutors
We compensate tutors for all of these:
- We compensate tutors for all of these:
- Classes taught
- Classes where the enrolled student doesn't show up to a scheduled class
- Classes canceled by parents fewer than 24 hours before the session
- This excludes classes cancelled due to family’s payment failure
- Bonus for trials converted into subscribers
1:1 Class Pay Rates
How Tutors Are Paid for Group Classes
In Group Classes, you earn more as more students join.
- Group Classes can include up to 8 students
- Tutor pay increases with each student who registers and attends sessions
Group class rates (per student):
| Class length | Rate per student |
|---|---|
| 25-min Group Class | $5 per enrolled student |
| 55-min Croup Class | $10 per enrolled student |
So a 55-min group class with 4 students pays out $40, an 8-student 25-min group class pays out $80, and so on.
Note: By enrolled students, we mean students who are enrolled in the Group Class and are expected to attend the weekly session, including:
- those who attended
- those who didn’t show up and didn’t cancel, and
- those who cancelled fewer than 24 hours before the session’s start time
Students who cancelled their Group Class sessions more than 24 hours before the start time, as per our policies, are refunded and therefore not counted toward your pay.
👩‍🏫 Where to Find Your Payment Info
A quick reminder on where to find everything related to your payments:
- Your Dojo Tutor Payouts Dashboard includes all the detailed info of your payments for the current pay cycle and past ones
- Your invoices are also available in Remote and include the summary of what has been paid
Keeping an eye on both ensures you always know exactly what's coming your way.
âť“ FAQs
- What would be the total payout for a trial class I taught where the learner ended up subscribing to weekly tutoring?
- Example #1 — Group A: The total payout would be $15 — a $7.50 flat rate for the trial class, plus a $7.50 conversion bonus for the student subscribing.
- Example #2 — Group B: The total payout would be $10 — a $5 flat rate for the trial class, plus a $5 conversion bonus for the student subscribing.
- What would be the total payout for a trial class I taught where the learner never subscribed to weekly tutoring?
The total payment would be $7.50 or $5.00 (depending on whether you're in Group A or B). The conversion bonus is only paid if the student subscribes.
- Do I need to submit an invoice through Remote for each pay period?
You do not need to submit an invoice. Our payment team automatically generates invoices for each pay period. These include all the payable items.
- When will I get paid for rescheduled classes?
If a class is rescheduled, you’ll be paid for the class on the pay cycle of the date the class takes place.
- When will I receive the payments for my conversion bonuses?
Bi-weekly payments are made on the last business day on or before the 15th, and on the last business day of each month.
Each payment includes:
- All trial classes taught
- Any conversion bonuses earned
- All subscription classes taught
- Any substitute classes taught (or no-showed by students)
- Note: Substitute classes cancelled last-minute are not paid out, only student no-shows
- All group classes taught
- If I teach a trial class in April and the learner subscribes in May, when will I get the conversion bonus?
Your conversion bonus is paid in the pay period when your student subscribes — the date you taught the trial class doesn't affect the timing. A few examples:
- Student subscribes 04/07 → bonus paid by 04/15 (pay period: 03/25 – 04/09)
- Student subscribes 04/19 → bonus paid by 04/30 (pay period: 04/10 – 04/24)
- Student subscribes 05/07 → bonus paid by 05/15 (pay period: 04/25 – 05/09)
- If I teach a trial class, but the learner gets assigned to a different tutor later, will I still get the subscription bonus?
Yes! As long as the learner attended a trial class with you and later subscribed, you'll receive the bonus. You were the one who introduced them to Dojo Tutor, and we recognize that!
- What if a class is missing from my payment?
If a class wasn't credited, submit a dispute using the dispute link in your payout report, available in your Tutor Dashboard. It is not necessary to reach out to Support for payment disputes.
