We’re thrilled to announce a feature many families have been waiting for: Longer Classes are officially coming to Dojo Tutor!
Starting June 30th, families will be able to subscribe to 55-minute sessions—giving your child more time to focus, grow, and dig deeper into subjects they care about, all with the same great tutors you know and trust.
🧠Why We Made This Change
We’ve consistently heard from families who wanted more flexibility and depth in their lessons—especially as kids get older and learning needs become more complex.
Some parents were even contacting our team to book back-to-back sessions manually. With this update, we’re making it easier and more seamless for families to access longer learning blocks, all on your own schedule.
Plus, longer classes give tutors more time to build connection, dive into more advanced material, and help your build your child’s child confidence and skills.
🧠What’s Changing
⏱️ Longer Classes — 55-Minute Sessions
- You’ll now be able to choose between 25-minute or 55-minute sessions when starting a new subscription after your trial
- All classes in a subscription will be of the same length (this means you cannot combine 25 and 55 minute classes within the same subscription)
đź’ˇ Who Can Book Longer Classes?
Families who set up a new subscription after a trial class will see the option to book longer sessions. Active subscribers can also update their child’s weekly class length at any time through the Parent Dashboard.
🧪 Trial Classes Stay the Same
All trial classes will remain 25 minutes long. After your trial, you’ll be able to choose the right length for your ongoing subscription

Pricing now depends on a few factors: session length, tutor experience, class frequency, and whether the time is during peak hours. You can find more details on our pricing here.

Can I switch my current subscription to longer sessions?
Yes, you can update your child’s weekly class length to 55-minutes at any time through the Parent Dashboard.

What if my child currently has back-to-back sessions?
Those will remain the same for now. In a future release, we’ll make it easier for families to adjust class length and frequency. At that point, your tutor may suggest combining back-to-back sessions into a single, longer one.
Are all tutors available for teaching longer sessions?
Not all tutors are available for 55-minute sessions. If your Trial tutor has no availability for longer sessions, then you may have to book 2+ 25-minute sessions individually (depending on your tutor’s recommendation and your preference).
Will substitute tutors still be available?
Yes, as long as substitute tutors have 55-minute classes enabled in their settings, they can step in.
