Your feedback powers better tutoring—for everyone.
At Dojo Tutor, we know that great feedback makes great tutoring. Reviews help us recognize excellent tutors, improve where needed, and ensure your family is matched with the best possible fit.
Here’s everything you need to know about how reviews work on our platform:
✅ Who Can Leave a Review?
Only verified families (parents or guardians) can submit a review after a class has been completed. Reviews submitted by children are not permitted and may be removed.
⏰ When and How Reviews Can Be Left
You’ll be prompted to leave a review for each class:
- Right after class, via a pop-up in your dashboard or app
- In the “Upcoming Classes” tab if your last class hasn’t been reviewed
- In the “Past Classes” tab (for your 3 most recent sessions, within 7 days)
- Via email or push notification
Reviews are optional but highly encouraged! The option to leave a review disappears after 7 days.
⭐ Our Review Format
Each review includes:
- A 1–5 star rating
- A short written comment (required the first time you review a tutor)
- A follow-up question if the rating is below 5 stars:
"Was the issue related to the tutor, technology, or both?"
🚫 Content That’s Not Allowed
To protect all members of our community, we reserve the right to remove reviews that include:
- Offensive or abusive language
- Personal information (like addresses, phone numbers, or full names)
- Irrelevant content (e.g. app or platform wide issues or tech problems misattributed to a tutor)
- Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate content
- Misclicks (e.g. 1-star review with clearly positive feedback—may be corrected with written family consent)
We do not edit the content of reviews. We may remove them entirely if they violate this policy.
⚖️ Disputes and Edits
We want the review system to be fair and trustworthy.
- If you misclicked a rating: Reach out to us! We can update the star score with your written consent.
- If your review was removed: It likely violated our content policy (see above). Our team will reach out if clarification is needed.
- If you want a review deleted: We can process that upon your request as the parent/guardian.
👀 What We Do With Reviews
We use your feedback to:
- Help other families find great tutor matches
- Coach and support tutors to grow
- Flag quality or safety concerns early
- Improve our platform and experience
🔐 Privacy and Visibility
- Reviews will be visible to your tutor; they’ll see your display name as listed on the platform, not your email or other contact info.
- When submitting a review, you’ll see an optional checkbox allowing us to share your feedback and name with your school community to help promote Dojo Tutor. It’s completely up to you whether you opt in—and if you change your mind later, just reach out to Support and we’ll gladly get it sorted.
