You can now choose whether or not you want substitute tutors for your child’s sessions. If your tutor is ever unavailable, this setting lets you decide if you’d like us to send a qualified substitute— or simply skip the class instead.
This gives your family more flexibility and control over your tutoring experience.
Where to find this setting
You can update this preference anytime from your Parent Dashboard:
- Go to your account settings.
- Look for “Substitute tutor preferences.”
- Use the toggle labeled “Send a substitute if my tutor is unavailable.”
- Toggle ON: A substitute tutor will teach the session if your primary tutor is unavailable.
- Toggle OFF: The session will be automatically canceled instead of being reassigned.
How it works
- The setting applies to your entire Dojo Tutor account.
- It affects all children, all subjects, across all subscriptions.
- It is not possible to disable substitute tutors for just one child or subject.
- Toggling this setting off takes effect for future sessions that have not yet been scheduled.
- In most cases, this means it will apply starting with the upcoming week, once the next weekly schedule is generated.
- Any sessions already scheduled will not be affected
If You Already Have a Substitute Assigned
If a substitute tutor has already been scheduled and you prefer not to use them:
- Please reschedule or cancel the class directly from your Parent Dashboard and then turn off the substitute tutor toggle.
- Canceling the class will automatically refund the session without you needing to contact our support team.
We highly recommend rescheduling the class with your child’s regular tutor whenever possible. This helps maintain learning continuity, which is incredibly important for your child’s progress and confidence.
