How feedback works—and how we protect you.
At Dojo Tutor, we know how much heart and care you put into each class. Our review system exists to support quality, reward great teaching, and help families find the right match.
We also understand that feedback can feel vulnerable. That’s why this policy outlines how reviews work, when moderation applies, and how we ensure fairness for you as a tutor.
✅ What Is the Review System?
After a class, families may be prompted to leave a review. This includes:
- A 1–5 star rating
- A written comment (required the first time they review you)
- A follow-up question if they rated less than 5 stars:
“Was the issue related to the tutor, the technology, or both?”
Reviews can only be submitted by verified families (parents or guardians). Reviews written by children may be removed.

We use reviews to:
- Match families with the right tutors
- Provide helpful feedback and coaching (when appropriate)
- Power Tutor Search and profile visibility
- Detect potential quality or safety concerns
🔍 Where Reviews Appear
- Reviews may be displayed on your Tutor Profile
- They may be reviewed internally by our Support & Quality teams
🚫 What Kind of Reviews Are Removed?
We remove reviews that:
- Include offensive, abusive, or discriminatory language
- Share personal or identifying information
Star ratings may be updated only with written consent from the family.
Written comments cannot be edited, only removed if they violate our policy.
🛑 What Tutors Cannot Do
To ensure fairness and platform integrity, tutors cannot:
- Remove a review just because they disagree with it
- Contact the family directly about a review
- Reply to a review (this feature is not yet available)
- Edit any portion of the written feedback
🤔 What if I think the review is wrong?
Our policy is that we do not arbitrate disagreements between tutors and families. Even if you feel the review is inaccurate, we will not remove it unless it violates our content standards.
We know this can be tough—but one review will never define you. Our system is designed to balance context, patterns, and long-term performance.
